We were blessed with a beautiful day for bowls on a superb green and great to see a good turnout . Thankyou to all those people behind the scenes who helped make the day such a success, Hats off to Ann and John on a great job on the catering, not forgetting Sharons sausage rolls, the scorers and markers and of course the finalist’s themselves on a good competitive day of bowls played in good sportsmanship throughout.

Well that’s it folks another season of Club matches comes to an end with just the Internal competitions to be decided.

Overall this season has been a success, In the A & D Leagues the A team comfortably won Division 2 gaining promotion back to Division 1,not to mention a couple of hot shots along the way, congratulations to all team members👏. As for the B team having to introduce many new or inexperienced members to the rigors of competitive bowls and not having the luxury of a consistent team selection were unfortunately relegated from Division 3 to Division 4. Heads up people promotion next year is the target💪. Also great news in the F & D Mixed Triples again comfortably winning Division 2 gaining promotion back to the top in Division 1👏. Again very well done to all involved and enjoy playing with the big guns next year. A mixed bag in the cup competitions, we were narrowly beaten in the semi final of the Boyd Shield by our nemesis Farnborough but we were more successful in the Coventry Cup beating Premier League teams Camberley and Farnborough along the way to the Final unfortunately failing to overcome a strong Mytchett team under difficult playing conditions. So to conclude: Winners A & D Div 2. Winners F & D Div 2. Runners-up Coventry Cup.

Nine pairs battled it out in the sunshine (and with just enough competitive spirit!) for our annual Croquet Doubles Day.

Huge congrats to Bob Blightman & Elaine Mason, who emerged victorious. 🏆

Thank you to all members who came down to support the Bowls & Croquet Club during the Traco Fest and hopefully in the future new members may come from members of the public having the opportunity to give it a go! Here are a few photo’s from the day.

The 2026 SE Fed Croquet Ladies Day was held at Southwick on Wednesday 1st July with a full house of 14 teams competing for the trophy.

Our Aldershot Traction team certainly had a tough schedule, facing the top three finishing teams during our six matches. Although it made for a challenging day, we thoroughly enjoyed every match and appreciated the opportunity to play against such strong opposition.

Congratulations to Chichester, who were worthy winners of the Ladies’ Day Trophy and a big thank you to everyone at Southwick for organising such a well-run event and for their warm hospitality. The lovely green lawns, welcoming atmosphere and perfect weather all contributed to a great day.

We have now reached the halfway stage of the league season and have many positives to report. Firstly very well done to all our new bowlers who have been introduced to the league format and hope you are enjoying the experience👏.The A team sit proudly at the top of Division 2 so far undefeated, keep going and promotion awaits🤞. A difficult season for the B team who certainly don’t have the same luxury of maintaining a consistent team selection as that of the A team. As for the F&D Mixed Triples once again are sitting pretty at the top of the league after narrowly missing out on promotion last year we’re determined to finish the job this season👍. The club internal competitions are progressing very well and we still players representing the Traco in a few County and District competitions so good luck to you all make us proud👏. Finally thank you to everyone involved from both Croquet and Bowls in the maintenance of the green which is in great condition. Thank you🙏
